If they are short, they have "relaxed over time". If you crank them thru a sheet metal slip roll it will lengthen them back to original length. I start with the rollers about 3/16 apart and tighten them a little after each pass thru the rollers till they are the length you want. It will also "firm them up". In the "relaxed" position they are a looser or softer weave. The old original Scandinavian or Wards bands were never too short. They have just "relaxed" thru the years. I have did this for many years, and never had any issues. In fact these original bands will always out wear the modern repros, after they have been ran thru the rollers
