Posting pictures…

Post by Dave Young » Sat Dec 16, 2023 6:30 pm

I know this topic has been beat to death, but has it gotten any easier to post pictures on this forum than it was a few years ago? I had given up on doing it in maybe 2018 and really haven’t tried since. I had kept of cheat-sheet spelling out all the steps necessary to get them to appear but seem to have misplaced that. It’s not worth the hassle to me, but I would love to post a question and a photo pinpointing a particular rivet that I need to install on my current top replacement project. I post pictures all the time on other forums and it’s as easy as can be. Adding a picture to the AACA Forum is nothing more than choosing the one that I want. I guess way more of you guys are office-cats and spend a whole lot more time in front of a computer than some of us do. I text, email, buy stuff, , bank, manage my stocks, file truck taxes, buy airline tickets, reserve hotel rooms, etc, online, but this picture thing is nuts. Sorry for the rant.

This is what I do Dave.
Let’s use a rivet as an example.
I use my I pad since it’s larger and I can see it easier! I find a site that has a rivet and click on the rivet or whatever. I press on the picture and several uses for it come up. I click on “save photo “.
It goes to my pictures on the I pad.

I then go to “new topic” on the forum and post Model T rivet or something similar.
I then type in the need or question on the post.

On the bottom of the post “attachments”comes up and then I click on it. It brings up my pictures and I pick the picture and a check mark appears and I click add in the top corner.
I then go to the post and click “preview”. The post reappears with the picture and then I click “submit”.
This may or may not help you but I figured it out with my oldest daughters help who works with computers on her job! And I’m old and slow but can’t do much else.

Well, that certainly seems much easier than in past years! I’m gonna go take a picture of the windshield bracket on my ‘26, with my IPad and then try to use it. Thanks!

Hope it helps Dave. I use my I pad more than my phone. It’s like a computer to me. You should have a picture section on it. When you use your I pad for pictures sometimes they are a bit to big. When it shows up on the attachment designation it will be a yellow triangle which means it is too big. The green line comes all the way across and a. check mark will appear to show you it’s OK.

If it is to big go back to the photo on your pictures group and click on edit. From there you can shrink it up enough to get the attachment to take it. Once you do it a few times it’s pretty easy. The light bulb comes on finally as it did for me.💡💡 Practice makes perfect!

And there isn't any rust on it.
