Steel tag under seat cushion

Back when I was restoring my 23' touring, I was removing the upholstery from the seat springs, and found the original seat cushions were just upholstered over. I couldn't throw that original upholstery away, so they went to the shelf. Earlier today I was looking more closely at the cushions and found a steel tag crimped around the inside of the seat cushion bottom. It says S75592. Has anyone ever seen a tag like this, or have any idea what its use may have been?

For what it’s worth here is a picture of one of the front seat cushions original padding from my 24 Coupe.
I bought new upholstry for the front seat cushions. The padding had Ford parts numbers on them. There weren’t any metal tags on the spring themselves. This doesn’t mean your cars spring tag not original. It could be one of the spring suppliers for your car had the tags. All parts suppliers didn’t make their parts exactly as the others did and maybe didn’t use metal tags.
There are some things that Ford did or didn’t do that we’ve found out over the years of being around Model T’s. In other words the cars built in your cars time frame probably weren’t all “exactly alike”.

Slightly off topic.

Years ago, there was a box of numbered steel plates with two holes that were scrapped. I grabbed a few and eventually used one as a tie plate on my wooden tack strips behind the seat.

I wonder if someday some future person on this forum will ask about the numbers stamped on that plate.
