Sold Reeder Aluminum Cylinder Head

Post by RVA23T » Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:31 pm

According to the brain trust this is a Reeder high head with standard model T plug holes. I do not see any oxidation in the water jacket. According to the former owner of the head, it was installed on a friend of his T and immediately blew the head gasket. I do not see any indications as to why or if that occurred. Very little indications of this head having been installed, I can see milling marks still on the gasket face area, but wife said our T is fast enough so off it goes.

$375 plus shipping most likely USPS and with insurance.

Recently, there was discussion on the discussion part of the Forum about Reeder heads and it was said that they, or at least some of them were quite prone to head gasket failure due to the thinnest of the material between cylinders.

I've used them for years. I did some work for Ralph years ago and had as many as a dozen of his heads. Only gasket failures I've ever had were corrected by a properly decked block
