Ford Reamer Tool Set - ID and Help Please

Post by A Whiteman » Mon Mar 11, 2024 10:01 am

We would like to ask for help to fully identify the FORD reamer set that my friend Chris has recently been given by another T enthusiast.

1 - What we would very much like to obtain is a picture of the full label that used to be on the inside of the lid (see picture below of partial remains) that we could use to reproduce a replacement label.

2 - Also, do you know if there was a label on the outside of the box lid?

3 - What are the two reamers that we are missing from the set (see picture below with the 'gaps' in the box)?
(OR can you provide a list of what the set should have and we can figure out what is missing)

4 - Can you confirm our ID of the maker and do you have any other history for them?
The large reamer reads "KEYSTONE REAMER &TOOL CO MILLERSBURG ??" while the small reamer only has "R&TCO"

Many thanks

Adrian (on behalf of Chris D.)

Is the top long reamer a Ford reamer? What would it have been used for other than the mains or camshaft.
Or is it long enough for that use. Doing a search on ebay and other sources it seems the company did variations of reamer sets. If it was a specific Ford T reamer set would all the reamers have a Ford marking? It’s a nice set but knowing what the other missing reamers size would be very beneficial.

Looks like the Keystone 1X Ford Service Set to me. Fourteen expansion reamers and 2 solid reamers (mains and camshaft), it has a different layout for the box from the one shown in the catalog, looks like maybe the lid was put on 180 degrees off. Of the ones that I have, they never had a label on the outside of the lid, only on the inside. It took me a while, but I did eventually find the handle that the guy on the cover is using, it is longer than the reamer for the mains and camshaft., Hopefully this is helpful, if my reamer sets were "local" I would get a picture of the label for you, but I won't be near them for about another month.
