Coil hardware question

Post by Jim11787 » Fri Apr 26, 2024 9:48 am

When replacing the coil top hardware can someone tell me where the 2 fiber washers go in the assembly process? The old coil I disassembled did not have them. I assume they are insulating washers.

Are you referring to the metal top coil, or the wood top coil?

The two fiber washers are used under and over the bridge at the adjustment screw. I generally only use one under it.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Thanks Mark. That’s what I thought.

This Ford diagram depicts the details for what and where point mouning hardware should be installed on the Williams KW Ford ignition coil.

I agree with Mark; I find that the coil is best set up with just the fibre washer under the contact plate, above the coil spring.
And then TWO nuts above, locked.

I got this sketch out of JPG format so it is easier to print.
