Old car by an old house

Recently me and a friend were out trampsing in our T's and passed by this gorgeous, old, sadly deteriorating house. Told him afterward we shoulda stopped for pics and next time we would.
Made a tour out that way today and fulfilled that. I love old houses and old barns. This one is great, just needs a LOT of TLC before it really goes to pot. Kinda sad.

It's way out in the middle of nowhere, basically in between Monroeville OH & Bellevue OH yet south of 'em just the same. One of those quiet locations where I can hear my ears ring along with the red-winged blackbirds singing their unique cool song.

Ok then, I have since moved but this was my house in the Fox Park area in St Louis built in 1884. There are a few elements that give it away as a newer picture, but I like it.

Thank you, Richard. Looks better in sepia and black and white (I like the sepia best). Thank you, Tim. There are not many houses like that in Florida. In 1985 while visiting a girlfriend in North Carolina, we visited Wilmington where they have a lot of Victorian houses. I took a lot of pictures and came back to Bartow and, using the pictures I took, incorporated features I liked from several of the prettiest house, converted my little white single story cracker house into a colorful 3 story Wilmington Queen. Took me 10 years but it was worth it. Jim Patrick

That's a little more work than Jim and Tad's and I have to look to see if I have an editor to do it.
I'm in the middle of a Valve Job but I will look onto it over the week.

John, here is a picture of the Victorian door on my house that would look good on your house, if Richard could reduce it in size, clone out any imperfections such as the note to my mailman and fit it in the opening in place of the existing door. Jim Patrick

Thank you John. I bought those doors for $60.00 about 25 years ago. I was driving by an old Victorian house on my way to breakfast in Bartow and noticed the doors were leaning against the wall on the porch. I had always admired those doors, which were the focal point of the house, every time I drove by and decided to stop to see what they were going to do with them. Turns out they were replacing the antique doors with a modern door with side lights and a big piece of glass. I asked what she was going to do with her old doors and she said the workers replacing her door offered her $50.00 for the pair. I asked where the workers were and she said they went to breakfast. Reaching for my wallet, I asked her: “Would you take $60.00 cash for them?” She said yes, so I quickly took them and left before the workers returned, asking her to have the workers save the hinges for her to give to me. Later, when I went back for the ornate antique hinges, she answered the door laughing. “Those workers were sure mad when they got back and saw the door missing”. I’ll bet they were! Had my timing not been perfect in stopping by while the workers were at breakfast, I would have never gotten those doors, which are perfect for my house. Of course I had to custom make a door jamb to accommodate the door, enlarging the door opening from 36” to 48” and raising it 18” to include the framed transom glass, but I was very pleased with the final results. I still can’t believe my luck. LOL! Jim Patrick

This is my runabout in front of the transistion from the shed to the barn on the house I inherited from my late Aunt. The house was built during 1787 as a store. The shed may have been built with the house or, possibly, added a bit later. The first half of the barn was definitely added later and the second half was the last addition.

The place needs a bit of work.

Earlier images of the house. I have not yet determined when it ended the commercial phase of service and then became a private home.

Sorry to horn in on Richard's job, but in case it's of interest here's my rough 'n ready version of what I think you were looking for. I've not completely removed the fence, but guess it's ok for a quick look, and I used Jim's doors. Also colourised the image, and then made it 'old'...

Jim, if you've lived in Oz you'll understand why the pic below is quintessentially Australian. For anyone else, The Ettamogah Pub was a cartoon published in the Australian Post from the late 1950's, I remember it as being one of those pictures you could look at multiples times and yet find something new at each viewing, and of course it was very humorous. Sadly the cartoon and Australian Post are no longer with us (the young man in me was very appreciative of Australian Post for reasons in addition to the Ettamogah Pub , but you can see various excerpts if you search around the interweb.

The cartoon later became a reality as a 'real' Ettamogah Pub was built in the mid '80's, however I'm sure this picture is 60-odd years earlier than that, when the publican had just bought himself a new 'ute' and was showing it off in the front of the establishment You'll see your cistern lying in the weeds at the front of the pub, and if anyone chooses to have a look at the many images that abound you'll also find an old truck is perched on it's roof, perhaps the owner put it there when he found the T was superior in every way!

Here you go. A very cool shot of a C1913 Runabout/roadster with a custom Australian built body outside a lovely country home in South Australia. The maker of the body has always remained a mystery as this is the only known picture of a T with this kind of body.

Loop-Harrison Mansion, Port Sanilac, Michigan - completed 1875. Was the home of an early Doctor in Sanilac County, now part of the County's Historical Museum and Village. The first auto-related traffic fatality in the county took place on the road out front (former US25, now M25) when Dr. Loop's daughter was struck and killed by a Model T. Ironic wouldn't you say? Her ghost has supposedly been seen by motorists passing by the mansion at night....at least that's the story they tell to the visitors
