It looks like a long wheelbase from the pictures- is it on a passenger car chassis or TT chassis? Rear wheels look like TT..

That's a fine-looking vehicle. Remember those old school school desks with wooden tops, ink wells, and curved, fold down wooden seats on metal frames? When I was a kid, some were still in use, bolted in rows to wooden runners and then to the wood floor, which kept them in neat rows. Two rows of 3 or four of those desks on runners would look great for seating in that vehicle and could be put in or removed by one or two persons. Safe? About as safe as a typical modern school bus.
