Odd wire Wheels

Has anyone seen adds for, or these wire wheels before? Fits a standard T hubs, 30 x 3 1/2 rims. Am looking for a pair of centres or whole wheels.

Any help appreciated.

Only a guess but those wheels may be Great Western Mfg. Lindsay Wheels.

This adv shows a version with large hubs, but with demountable rims, perhaps for other than Ford. The adv. says for Fords and maybe your clincher rim is one version.

The second adv. is for Lindsay, but hard to determine the hub section, however, the lacing seems correct.

Mark, that race car has a hood long enough to cover two coupled T engines!

Thank you Dan for your reply and research. I haven't seen the wheels you show, before. I think they are similar but not the same.

20 odd years ago, I think I found an add of the ones I'm looking for but have lost the copy I had. Am sure it came from a 1910's -20s English magazine called "The book of the Ford" like this one but possibly a later addition than this first one. Maybe some of the UK members hare may be able to help me.

It is low slung, as appears the oil pan is too low , but note the wheels, the racer chassis is on jack stands, while the wheels hang low off that channel lift. Wheels on the track and the racer has clearance.

Correct Dan, wheels are hanging below the height of the lifting beams. Generally the top of the chassis can't be any lower than the top of the axle height for 30 inch "od" wheels unless you raise the engine for some clearance. I would say it has the crearace of a track racer. Note it also has no crank case extension like a lot of the race cars had for dry sumping and or oil cooling.

Here is a photo of the same wheels on a 1926 Pickup from another post here. This photo looks to be taken in Africa. All evidence suggests the were available mostly outside USA and possibly manufactured in the UK.
