Re: bolt source for fly wheel start ring
For my money Dan M on here has the best slinger and bolt kit.
He also makes a ring to keep triple gear pins from backing out.
I will not remove magnets for customer without one of those kits.

Hi John,
The 6mm will self lock in the threads so make sure the length is correct to tighten the ring gear.
Craig.

Re: bolt source for fly wheel start ring
I Get the length to stick out 1/6" additional & peen the ends.
I use lock washers also. That & the self locking nature of the close thread makes for a triple safe install.
Never had one come loose.
P.S. These bolts are for the original 14-24 thread. I have no experience with the current incorrectly threaded 1/4-24 ring gears.

You can also retap the ring gear 1/4-28 and it will work just fine. As John mentioned you can also tap to a 6mm thread. Not sure I would just force the 6mm thread in to the ring gear.

Is this an item the vendors do NOT stock?
