Most use cut off fender brackets, what mounting style…? Early D shaped mount for gas headlight forks? Black car era V notch?

Whoops, thanks for clarification
'25 speedster, so yes, the later style. I've seen the cut-off '26-'27 fender irons

You might want to match your headlight post's threaded end to the fender iron mount hole for it (no assumptions) .
In addition the 22-25 stop is slight taper

My buckets...
Funny, looks like I have one '15 - '17 and one '22 - '25. How will they both fit the cut-off '26-'27 fender irons?

Neither one will fit '26-27 fender brackets. Those later Model Ts have a completely different method of mounting the fender to the frame and the headlights mount to the fenders.
Can you post a picture of the front corner ( either side) of your frame so we can see what you are working with?

You are correct but Tom made an improper reference as having seen "cut-off '26-'27 fender irons". Tom is building a fenderless speedster so 26-27 irons & fenders are out of scope.Layden Butler wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:33 pmNeither one will fit '26-27 fender brackets. Given what irons he has. Just needs to buy one of each fender iron.. Its a speedster so the mismatch doesn't matter. Or its what a speedster is about, making one from available parts!
It is also possible to make one of headlight posts fit the other style fender iron with a bit of effort

Layden,
I've attached the photos of the corner of my frame.
PS. I think I bought my steering wheel from you!

The holes shown in your frame picture (and headlights) indicate you need an "iron"
the 1926-27 Fenders used a "bracket" (4858) not an "iron" (4808-M or 4809)

Re: WTB - Fender bracket speedster headlight mounts for fenderless speedster
Mine is a speedster without fenders, so as far as I know, I need something like 4809 so I can mount headlights thru the holes in 4809, thus not needing and cutting off the rest of the fender iron.
As far as the year "iron" I need, I do not know.

This what is typically used for the headlights you have. They are fender irons with the rods cut off. --Tom Stephens wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 1:24 pmMine is a speedster without fenders, so as far as I know, I need something like 4809 so I can mount headlights thru the holes in 4809, thus not needing and cutting off the rest of the fender iron.

Since the posts of the headlights you have are different you can get one of each or just one style 4804-M and file the sides of the tapered one. Don't worry about the taper. Try Bob's Antique Auto Parts he has a ton of the Front Fender Irons - he's the FATMAN on the forum

Re: WTB - Fender bracket speedster headlight mounts for fenderless speedster
I rec'd my fender irons, each one matching the flat and tapered stems, I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks for all the helpful info!
