What's this?

Post by love2T's » Thu Dec 12, 2024 3:44 pm

Posting for my friend Joe...he acquired this "thing" attached to a block. Wants to know if anyone's seen anything like it and exactly what's it for or does. Thanks!

That is an oil pump driven off the back of the cam.
These are custom so I can not tell you who made the pump and setup.

Air cooled VW oil pump. Some were set up to simply pump oil to the front to assist the splash system, while others went to full pressure bearings. The block should not have been modified too badly. Maybe just a couple extra holes

Is this a VW oil pump? I am not familiar with this setup was wondering if tube on top was for priming, this was a fresh rebuild with A crank but has set for many years, thinking of using this with my four valve Rajo but would love to know who else has done something like this or do i need to change whole setup from what some one has created. Thanks Tim for posting since, i have not figured it out how to do this on this sight.
