Website S L O W - upgrade appreciated

Post by Moxie26 » Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:54 am

For almost 23 hours our website speed was bogged down taking minutes to load.... Indicator had over 3K accessing at one time or another.

Many kudos and thanks for the fix.

Sharing your experience during this time would be appreciated. Have a better great day .

Most of it is caused by the bad guys trying to get in. Not sure what they are after or looking to gain, I guess its just the way it is now.

We contact Liquidweb and they block the abusive IPs they find.

They have pointed out other SQL & server processes we can look at.

Jeff & I will be reviewing the points in these emails.

Chris

PS even when the server is extremely slow it never completely goes down.

Still VERY slow here. To send this reply I had to log in again, making it doubly VERY slow. The little red stars indicating previous responses to posts have also disappeared? I tried to get access with my phone but same deal.

Thanks Chris for all you do to keep us all together and in some degree, sane.

For about a month, my computer was very slow and I got a new computer. It now works very fast. However, for the last few days only the Model T forum was very slow. I wanted to contact Chris but couldn't even get to post a message.
Today, the forum is back to normal and I thank you very much.

Last night (January 15) I let the "wheel" spin for almost ten minutes, still couldn't get to the sign in page. I wasn't able to get in at all yesterday, or my earlier tries today.
Just a few minutes ago, after Mark Strange replied to my query on AACA, I tried again and was in in fifteen seconds.

Thank you Chris and Jeff, and all the others that make this bit of magic work!

Again, appreciation and thanks to our club leaders.......WOW, after posting my correction in, Forum response came back to life , at least here in New Jersey... Exactly. Thanks again!

It was slow this morning around 6:30, and now it's back to normal again. It seems to come and go.

If it means anything, when i clic on the shortcut on my screen, it goes straight to the page and I am logged in. Yesterday, it showed I was not logged in, I had to key in my info. It could be that they were trying to harvest passwords? The chinese got into the US treasury departments computers , so they might be using a site like this for practice?

Could be that the Chinese are trying to reverse engineer the T out of desperation.

For whatever it is worth? Last evening it was working well and I began a reply to a thread and got interrupted. Six hours later (about three a.m. here) I finished my reply. Unfortunately, this site was no longer working well at all. I did manage to get my reply to post. I think it was part luck, timing (?), and it took about a half hour to upload. I tried another tab, and tried to reach the site a few times, but couldn't get it at all on the other tabs. Even on my first tab, I wasn't able to navigate anywhere else, and couldn't even sign out. It was late, so I disconnected from the wi-fi and shut my computer down.
This afternoon now it seems to be working fine again.

Could be interesting to know the origins of those bad IP adresses. Russia is very active over here with cyberwarfare and this seems to be what is called a DDOS (Dee Dos) attack where numerous captured devices tries to access the same website/server at the same time.
