We are going to attend also, lucky to get a room at the host hotel. Sounds like a good time as usual. Hopefully NO SNOW with the polar vortex doing its thing.

For those folks concerned about crossing the Mackinac Bridge - a group of us went both directions as part of Tunnel of Trees tour last fall. The Model T's handled it well and it was just like driving any road except the view was spectacular! The straits area is one of my favorite parts of Michigan. So much to see and do.

Trivia Question: Most people know that residents of the UP refer to themselves as "Yoopers" but what do they call the people who live beneath the bridge in lower Michigan?

We are trying to put together a plan to attend. It's about 6 hours from us, really seems like it would be a great time. Now I have to figure out how to get our camper and the model T both there...

Trolls. They live under (below) the bridge.

$155 a night. That is not in my budget. I guess OCF is my go to this year.

Dave,

Yup, really difficult to get good rates in great tourist locations, during the tourist season. For fun, I checked out the host hotel's on-line rates for those dates, not taking into account the "Michigan Jamboree" room block. I came up with $225.00 per night. I'd say, by comparison, $155 is a deal... but still not so cheap. Kudos, however, to the planning team for the discount they were at least able to get.

I've got reservations, but there's also a wedding in the family on that weekend. Trying to figure out what to do. :x

Trolls is correct! We live below the bridge.

We stayed at one of the host hotels for the Tunnel of Trees and as I recall it was under $100. Of course, that was after Labor Day. During peak tourist season you can expect to pay a lot more. I think Brian and crew did a good job getting the price down.

Before you give up entirely, there are some small mom and pop motels in the area that should be more reasonable. Check them out before you decide to stay home.

Tim, we paid $140 per night for the St Ignace hotel rooms for the 2024 Tunnel Of Trees Tour. That was late September, it will cost more during the summer season. Once summer starts there will not be any rooms at any price. Our 2024 ToT rooms were at a block room rate, the regular non discounted rate was $240 per night.

The price of $140 is really cheap!
