Old family tale that my foster uncle drove for Joie Chitwood to explain where the burns on his back came from. Tale was he did a jump through
a flaming hoop. Many years later talking to a guy I worked with said that he worked for Joie Chitwood so I asked about my uncle & he said he
was a legend with the Chitwood crew & everything I heard about my uncle was true. I never had the opportunity to see a Joie Chitwood
tournament of Thrills show but did get to drive in Lefty Robertson's Great Truck Race & Jump 3 times. Lots of fun!
Craig.

Wow, what an amazing family story, Craig! It’s incredible how those old tales can get passed down and then turn out to be true. I can imagine the thrill of being part of that legendary crew! Never had the chance to see a Joie Chitwood show either, but I’ve heard nothing but wild stories about them. Lefty Robertson's Great Truck Race sounds like an absolute blast, though – must've been quite the experience jumping those trucks! It’s awesome how these motorsport legends seem to create memories that last a lifetime.
It's not just a car, it's a piece of history.

As a kid, I remember seeing The Hell Drivers at the Michigan State Fair. Driving on two wheels, ramp jumps, head-on collisions, etc. Big fun for a little kid :)
