21 inch demountables?

I am looking at a 25 T coupe for myself and i happened to notice that it had 21 inch tires like a 26 27 wire wheel but it's a demountable rim on a wood wheel. i know it might seem like a stupid question but most wood wheels i've seen on T's were 23 or 24 inch wheels. was this a later wheel used on late 25 cars?

Demountable wood wheels with a collapsible 21" rim was introduced as an option in 1925.

From there they were used until the wire wheels were introduced. Both styles ran concurrently for quite some time.

Interesting, i was wondering about that. i like the blend of the demountable style with a balloon tire.

These look like 21's to me.

Dan, you have a good point there. Bruce was one of our founders and took time to write a true Ford history book.... The book cover pictured above is from the 1994 rerun issued by Krause publications, unfortunately, in my opinion had poor print and faded/blurred looking pictures compared to the first run put out in 1971 by Bruce Mc Calley and Ray Miller.

Bob: I just pulled that off the web. I have two of the first editions, one for shop one for motor home to take to swap meets. Also the first book.
The car that changed the world is far better. Much more research went into it. That was what Bruce said when he autographed both books for me at Chickasha one year.
I have not seen the reprint, but have heard that it is not good.
