FS: 1926-27 Touring Rear Doors $175 pair

FS: Rear Doors for a 1926 - 27 Touring. These doors came off of a California Desert car and are in pretty good shape, there's surface rust but little or no rust-through; they are quite solid. One of them is "oilcanned" and will need to be straightened, but that's alot easier than fixing rustout. The latch mechanisms are included. Asking $175 for the pair, not including shipping.

Rodger, does "oil canned" mean it has been pushed in somewhere and failed to pop out again like an oilcan does? It is sure an interesting turn of phrase.

Allan, yes that's what happened here. I can't remember where I heard that phrase from originally; younger generations will undoubtedly be baffled by it. I haven't tried to pop it back out - the metal might have stretched a bit. I'll be seeing a body man later today, so I'll try asking him for some advice.

I talked to the sheet metal guy, it can probably be pressed out and then possibly heated with a torch and quenched to shrink it if needed; not a big deal. According to him, the biggest, most time-consuming part of the job is to make the surface rust go away, so you can actually see where the dents are.
