1910 Touring
I have owned 1910 T number 24146 since Sept, 1946. It is a good carand mostly complete or the 1910parts needed go with it. If I do selll it, it has to go to a local person who will take good care of it. When an local person looks at it, I them will quote a price, but only to someone who will keep it. If I do not find the right person, I will keep it for a few more years. I will; not ship it.
I do not have to sell it.
Darel
I do not have to sell it.

Hello Darel, Mike Peternell here. I'll send you a PM. My wife and I came down to see your store a few years ago. Andy Loso and I were good friends. Talk soon!

Darel, I’m so sorry to hear you’re parting with the old girl! Nearly eighty years in your possession: no marriage will ever last that long so again, I’m sorry you need to part. Forgive me if I’m prying into your personal life, but isn’t there anybody in your immediate family who would want to carry on with the family heirloom?

Re: 1910 Touring
Incredible that you have owned and cared for this car for so long. I am truly impressed. Survivor vehicles are my absolute favorite because of the history they hold. Anyone with enough money can restore a Model T with loads of body filler and globs of paint. I love cars that have stood the test of time and still command respect. Thank you for being the caretaker, I hope the next owner perpetuates what you have done.

Re: 1910 Touring
When I bought this 1910 at the age of 14, there were higher offers, but i was sold to me for I said I would keep it and never sell it. Here 79 years later, I am selling it. Am I breaking my word?
Perhaps I should let it set, and when I pass on, my wife would offer it to the first 14 year old with $125 who states he would never sell it.

If you really want to sell the car, then sell it. If you don't want to sell the car, then keep it. It doesn't matter how long the next caretaker will keep the car.

I assumed that your comment was made in the same tongue-in-cheek way that Darel's comment was made. I saw no offense in it. Just my take on it.GarJen127 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 30, 2025 11:32 pmMy sincerest apologies for not realizing it was a figure of speech, I am so sorry to anyone I have offended or mislead because of my post, and I will refrain from any posts or comments that could be considered offensive in any way in the future. Re: 1910 Touring
Hop off your high horse, you’re running off a younger generation. The kid wasn’t rude and was making a joke as well, and you know it. Guys like you are why no younger guys are getting into the hobby. I’m a younger guy in my 30s and you were very rude to me years ago, when I asked you for a price on repairs. (“You don’t quote repairs, if cost is an issue you suggest me look elsewhere”). There’s plenty of the older generation out there more than willing to help young guys, but there’s plenty such as yourself that seem to be the opposite.Henry K. Re: 1910 Touring
Lack of manners and respect expected something cheap.., woe is me is not what any hobby needs. Get your butts and get involved by assisting and thou shall learn. Quit whining!
The man is 93 years old, a child of the Great Depression, tough love with hard knocks made him like my father. You have to learn that if it is a joke before saying things that bring out people like me. I defend and protect is still my military career oath until death!

Re: 1910 Touring
Well first off, I’ve had plenty of help and taught myself getting my hands dirty, no woe is me mentality here. I don’t expect cheap but I do expect a rough estimate before I spend my hard earned living, I bet you don’t pay for much without knowing the cost first. Moral of the story is, I see you whining on here more than anyone, calling others out, gloating etc. and when you were rude to the kid someone needed to say something. My grandfather is a WW2 vet, a child of the Great Depression etc and he sure as heck doesn’t treat young folks the way you did. Just because you’re an elder and experienced doesn’t give you the right to jump down the throats of others that were joking just like the original poster was. Respect is a two way street regardless of age. No wonder the hobby is dieing.
