Ford Sign?

Post by Dan Hatch » Mon Nov 03, 2025 11:20 am

Here is a sign I saw at a swap meet this weekend. I know it is a reproduction. Anyone know a source? Could not get a price, guy was not at booth.
Found what seems to be an original on line, but not sure. No price on it either. Thanks for any help. Dan

My best guess is that no such original product was ever made. For one thing, I'm thinking that the winged pyramid was out of use by 1912, long before Ford made TT trucks and tractors, (1917). Not saying it isn't cool, but I believe it's a "fantasy piece." That being said, there should be more out there, somewhere.

I've never come across that slogan in any Ford literature.

I'm not at home, but about 25 years ago I bought a similar sign from a company in Iowa. Don't remember the name.

I just looked at an original sign I have, and it has holes for screws. This one does not. I'd say someone spent a lot of time making a fake sign.

There are heaps of reproduction porcelain signs coming to Australia that have been made in India. Some are fanciful. Others are well made copies of originals. Some even have induced damage!
I too, would place this one in the fanciful category, based on the message and the somewhat lighter blue colour, which may be due to my computer rendition.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.
