Any suggestions for the beat type of paint to use to get close to original look?

use a epoxy primer than a single stage acrylic enamel paint. be prepared to pay $$$

I haven't personally tried this myself, so take at face value, but I've heard a few people have used Rustoleum tractor paint to get closer to the original than modern car paints
