I did not know KW's used those round spots for the bottom contacts? Like Heinze does for springs to do so? Learning curve here?

Re: 1913 Ford KW Coil Box with Five Coils
This coilbox and coil depicted above was ony used the first six months of 1913 production. This coil design was first shown to Ford in late 1912. Until that time they had been struggling finding a reliable/maintainable coil solution for early Model T's. Hence the many different types of coils/coilboxes that had been tried. When Ford saw the Williams design coils made by KW, they immediately adopted this solution for the Model T and entered into a co-production arrangement with KW. The unique large Williams coil and KW wood box only lasted six months where upon Ford standardized on the metal coilbox and their version of the coil for 1914 production. The Williams electro-mechanical coil point concept was used for all further Model T production until 1927. The Service Branch and Dealer ignition coil service tools/capability soon followed.

Re: 1913 Ford KW Coil Box with Five Coils
Thanks Ron.
Now I wonder how many of this style was/is out there? And are they the same size as their Heinze counterpart? Just thinking as to potential spare coils if needed. I have one spare Heinze...might be nice to have another or two of either so long as the contacts mate.
