What is the semi-rounded metal strip that goes around the back of a Fordor to cover the sheet metal seam called?

AND Does anyone have one to sell ? The car is missing about 1/3 of this piece on the passenger side.

If I take “around” to mean on the horizontal, we call it the ‘belt line’.

Locally we call it a 'body moulding' or 'D-Moulding" and yes, a close profile is available .... here in New Zealand.....

Probably other aluminum extruders make a similar one, possibly for coach building or boat building industries maybe.

The 1925 Price List of Body Parts lists it as Moulding, Rear Belt, part number 17163X.

You can fabricate one out of half rounded moulding that can be bought in different lengths and widths. You can buy it from industrial supply houses. It’s used for trimming out shelving, kitchen areas in restaurants, and other similar uses. I bought some years ago to finish out the seam trimming on the back of my 1919 T runabout.
Most of the trim pieces if not all is not reproduced. These prices you have to make.

The moulding seems to be made from some type of aluminum or pot metal. I have a 24 T Coupe and did have a 25 Four door sedan which I sold several years ago. Both of them had the moulding and was made of the same aluminum type material. It was nailed on with a type of finishing nail and then counter sunk. The small hole was filled in with putty and then sanded down before the bodies were painted I’m assuming.

I believe that a similar question was posted here on the Forum recently, and was answered by Mr. Pete Eastwood.

If I recall correctly, his answer stated that the body molding is available from Restoration Supply Co. They have an unusual website address. If you search Restoration Supply it will direct you to a vintage home hardware supply company. Make sure you look for antique auto supply parts.

Restoration Supply in California sells a extruded aluminum molding, part number MOU 035. It is a T shaped molding, sold in 8 ft. lengths. Current price is $60.00 if I'm not mistaken.
