How does one remove the front seat cushion ( back) on a 27 touring?
This one was recently re upholstered, looks like the covering is stapled in place, if so does this require pulling all the staples and then replacing them?

Re: Removing front seat cushion 27 touring
Dave,
The "Cushion" (bottom spring) just sits in there
The "Backrest", Ford Called it "Seat Back Cushion" (vertical back spring) is built into the seat frame and hangs on straps or screwed in place then the upholstery is installed over it trapping it into place. Originally they were tacked in place but today on most hidden locations it is stapled in place.
Basically they are built in.
To change them is quite a job.

Re: Removing front seat cushion 27 touring
I have nearly completed all the re-upholstering in my '27 Tudor.
I worked back to the springs, repainted what was still useable.
The drivers seat spring was too damaged and the new one was in the mail yesterday.
Then I applied new cushions and sewed the upholstery with a period correct fabric.
Will show the photos soon.
Removing staples was a big part of work. Quite difficult because it was not only the the stuff from the last re-upholstery but also the original fabric underneath.

Take a look at my thread Getting Rattles back on the road. I have the complete upholstery job on a 26 Touring.
