Head Bolts for a Rajo head?

Post by Reno Speedster » Thu Feb 19, 2026 10:45 pm

I am getting ready to mount my BB head. Does anyone have a source for the head bolts? Would studs be better?

Similar situation - I chose to use studs with my Fronty head. With clean threaded bolt holes in the block, I like having confidence that I'm using the full length of the threads in the block.

I used the longer studs for a Model A head and give them some anti-sieze. I put the head on, and then put the studs in using jam nuts to seat them in the block. When I've needed to remove the head, once again used jam nuts and removed the studs prior to lifting the head off. I use the same technique with my Model A studs rather than struggle to lift the head up past the studs. Snyders sells the long suds (5 23/32" long) for $2.50 each or $4.75 for a pair.

Those would be the Model A water outlet studs if looking for them in the Snyders catalog.
