Todd, if you can ever find one, I would like to get dimensions off it so I can make patterns for the castings for these, if you are willing to assist with this project.

Thanks!

Bill,

There is a fairly complete list of the N, R, S, & SR parts where the original "factory number" parts drawings are on microfiche film at the Benson Ford Archives. From memory, Trent Boggess composed an index or table of contents of the drawings they have located.

Disclaimer -- the oiler was not produced by Ford, so they may or may not have a lot of drawings for that one. Note the "1908 Model N,R,S & SR Price List and Parts and Instruction Book" has a drawing of the oiler along with many of the parts that were used in the oiler. From memory -- I think it was the 1908 and not the 1907 style that the parts were shown. All my books are boxed up at the moment as our house has been renovated and we haven't finished several items including the book cases.

The 1908 (as well as other years) Price List and Parts and Instruction Book was available on the Early Ford Registry website in the member's section. I'm so far behind, I have not visited it in a long time. And I probably need to find out how much I owe in back dues. Time seems to go faster as I grow older.

Below is a cropped section from that 1908 price list of parts showing the case for the 1908 mechanical oiler. Again from memory - they also had several other illustrations along with what it was called etc. The pulley, cams, etc.

And for a small number to be made, it might be cost effective to have the part printed in 3d in metal? Good luck with your project and keep folks posted on your progress.

Respectfully submitted,

And a photo of that oiler on Trent's Model N is shown below:

Bill,

as Hap says, the 1908 parts list has a cutaway drawing and breakdown of parts. I have a PDF file or the list I can email you if you want it. Let me know. I also have a McCord oiler on my SR that I can get at least external measurements on (it is plumbed in and full of oil), and if you get stuck, I could take it off and get more detail.

Correction -- the photo I posted above labeled Trent's Model N Mechanical oiler is NOT from his N. His "N" has maroon paint and from memory it has the Force Feed oiler. Instead, I believe it is off his 1908 Model S Roadster.

Humbly corrected,
