Hi, I know that it’s an old thread but I have a question as I am building my first T and Speedster. It looks to be a piece of billet aluminum or steel in the lower mounting bracket right under where the crank goes, what’s that for and do you have any available still?

Henry no longer participates on this forum. I believe the hunk of steel/aluminum is only there as a temporary filler piece used to hold everything in place for the photo.

He might still get an email if you send it through the forum "contact" icon.

Hi Johnathan,
That piece fits inside the front cross member
To support it so it will not collapse because there is no spring in the U part of the cross member with the lowering bracket installed. I you go to north west vintage speedsters web site there is a section on lowering speedsters you will find detailed drawing of some of these lowering mounts along with many other ideas.
Craig.
