Midwinter Clinic
Some shots from Saturday's gathering in Hutchinson.
Mike Vaughn delivers club news.
The theme of the morning was Tools. The show and tell included both Ford and aftermarket tools.
The Stevens 181 hub thread tool is a rare item.
Nick Nicholas (left) brought his speedster to show.
Famous Model T guys Brad cox, Mike Bender, and Bud Redding were present.

Nick's #42. When he fired it up I thought, that's not a Ford, it's a Harley.

Here are a few pics from the afternoon, Steve was gracious enough to talk about Spark Plug restoration and installing metal Valve Stems in new tubes.

Re: Midwinter Clinic
The demonstration of installing a metal valve stem ran off the rails. I planned to dismount a Riverside, cut the rubber stem off the tube, and install the metal stem. But the rim and tire combination I grabbed out of my shop wasn't of the recent vintage I assumed from its looks. It was old enough for the tire to be stuck to the rim by rust, and took a bunch of us to get it apart. Cutting off the rubber stem and grinding away the stub went normally, but when I tried to insert the metal stem the tube split apart. Old rubber gets rotten. Well, that's show biz.

The inevitable often happens.

Steve,
If everything we did went as planned life would become very boring.
I bet the plug rebuilding presentation SPARKED some interest!
Thanks to all for posting pictures of the get together.
