1914 Body changeover date

Post by jeffstag » Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:52 am

Hello, here's a question from dad, who is working on his August 1913 chassis. He wants to know if anyone has information on when Ford started to use 1914 bodies. I see in the encyclopedia that '14 touring bodies may have appeared as early as July '13, can the same be said for other body styles? Thanks.

I have no information to dispute the July '13 date. The 1913 body was problematic and Ford tried several "fixes" before re-designing the body. That re-design was the 1914 style, which first appeared at the tail end of the '13 style year.

I have a 13/14 Roadster that never was sold by the dealer. It has 13 type running gear(engine, frame, rear end)but is 14 body. Not sure about date or number, but will look. Thanks Dan
