What results has anybody had using Apco outside brakes?

Haven't seen any on tours, but maybe someone runs 'em.

From the info, seems the bands have only 1/4" thick asbestos lining, and the clevis system of adjusting the band around the small drum seems a bit simple, yet also likley difficult in practice. The long thread riveted to the band goes in that clevis, and each adjustment needs the clevis pin to be removed. They ran with rods to an equalizer, pulled by the brake pedal.
