Trojan

Post by ModelTWoods » Thu Mar 25, 2021 12:40 am

I have both the MTFCA Classified Ads and the General Discussion Forum (this one) saved to the favorites on my computer so with one touch I can access them. Lately, when I try to enter the Classifieds, I get a pop up saying Norton has blocked the website due to a "Trojan", but it doesn't stop my computer from accessing the Classified website. It still lets me in immediately. Is anyone else having this problem?

Correction: it is my Malwarebits program that sends me the Trojan message, and not Norton.

I have the same program, no I have not gotten that message. You might want to run the full scan, there may be something hidden. I have the premium Malwarebytes installed on mine. I have seen a huge decreases in spam in my email box using it over Norton. Even though I removed Norton(or so I thought), I still get the green check that shows Norton safe search.

Previous discussion in 2015 says that you should only download their app from their website http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/50 ... 1426292426

Do NOT download MBAM (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) from any other site but MBAM (link below). Click on the FREE version.
When the install starts uncheck the free trial box. The image below is old and it may have changed but DO NOT select the Trial Version of PRO unless you really want to. If you do, the PRO version will expire unless you buy it.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I loaded mine from the site. Went with Malwarebytes after using the free one in the past. I had Norton free with my internet, but they dropped it. After seeing the cost difference between Norton and Malwarebytes, I went with the latter, knowing what to expect from their service.
