Center Brake Lever?

I was looking at some pictures today and came across a 26/27 T that had the brake lever mounted in the center. It had an accessory transmission and the lever was either mounted to or on the passenger side of it. It was definitely a brake lever as there was no lever by the door and the shift lever was beside it. Anyone ever seen this?

That vehicle never came out the assembly line like that.... Although can't not rule out owner add-ons..... Could you post a photograph of that "find " ?

The first ones I know of were on the 1929 and later Model A's. The first A's had it on the left like the T and later moved in front of the gear shift, which caused a problem with parking in reverse so the later moved it about 2 inches to the right of the gear shift.

I know it would not be of any help on the USA bodies with no drivers door but it would be a great improvement for the Canadian T's that do.

Himico was an aftermarket transmission that replaced the stock one and also had a lever in the center. Here is a link to one post on here a year ago.
Other companies might of done this as well.

Could be something like a Chevrolet transmission added on that would have had the parking brake lever mounted on it. Many cars and trucks were made that way. Not an aftermarket one built for Ford T's, most all of those would have used the stock parking brake rod and lever.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:

Aww poo, I was hoping to see a version of a centered brake handle and accoutrements.
I believe the user of the late TT here unbolted and tossed the brake/control shaft since he was in and out of the door a lot.
Couldn't blame him. This truck is easy to get in and out of without.
With the Warford in neutral, start it up, center the clutch pedal, step on the brake and put it in gear.
A lever in the middle would be neat and more handy. If time allows it, I'd like to try doing that.
Since I lost my mind mind, I feel more liberated
