23" Hayes are a split rim but do not use a lock ring. The tire mounts to the split rim which has lugs permanently attached to it. No extra piece. Kelsey made a 23" TT rear wheel set up that used a spacer ring about the diameter of a pencil that goes between the split rim and the wheel fellow. You ha...

As time goes by, the ring wears and the slop increases. I checked 3 vehicles. 2 were at about 3/16" of movement but 1 was at 3/8" seems like alot. The bolt on the emergency brake cam is centered but the bolt will slide side to side using most of the surface of the cam.

Why do sellers think it is necessary to give background on Ford and/or the Model T. I have seen some just cut and paste from Wikipedia.
Tell about the car you are selling. The entire history of the Model T is mostly irreverent to the vehicle being sold.

Re: NH Holly Carburetor
Why remove it? I have rebuilt several without removing the tag.
You can fish up through from the other end for cleaning any crud out, and once installed the tag doesn't show much anyway. Just depends on what you are doing I guess.

Thanks, does anyone have a Stewart 5 foot cable they will sell. Lang's has them back ordered. Or can I just order the Stewart ends and make up my own? How?

Speedometer Cable question
If you use modern speedometer cable inside the flexible brass housing, do you need a sleeve of some type over the cable to protect the brass??

Plug up the holes with some black silicone and no one will ever notice once it gets a little dirt on it.

Smelly Tool Boxes
Does anyone have a tool box, probably plastic, that smells like nasty old cheese when you open it up. I have experienced this with a couple smaller tool boxes. What's the deal??

Re: Radiator stop leak
If you come to Winesburg, OH near the Berlin Amish country Beachy's Radiator will look at it. They have cleaned and done some light brazing on a couple for me. As far as repairing individual tubes that are 90 years old, not many places, including them will not even try. They might re-core it. Addres...

I have a 1920 touring car chassis with a valid Ohio title in my name. The front fenders and hood may be savable, but the rest of the metal would take a lot of work. Radiator is no good. All the body wood is rotted or missing. The wheels are no good. NOW The Good News. The engine is not stuck, the ch...
