I think I know the answer but I will ask anyway. I just installed a Texas T Alternator on my 1918 touring. I did not realize that it is a 12 volt alternator. I use an 8 volt battery because I like it and I want to. The question is>>>>Is it OK to have this 12 volt alternator with an 8 volt battery. I...

Hot glue is not very permanent in most cases. I would not use it for anything I wanted to last on a car. Gluing in toothpicks or wood matches works great for all kinds of things, especially screws that are stripped out in wood.

BE extremely careful if you decide to seperate the back of the drive shfat from the worm. The coupler will split if you beat on it too much.
Unless you are replacing the worm or if your driveshaft is bent, you shouldn't need to seprate it, so don't.

Take lots of photos. You shouldn't need any special tools.
Try a search on "MTFCA ruckstell shifter" It should bring up several images. I believe it looks much like the shifter for a car but is a bit heftier.
Be aware, parts are not being made for the TT Ruckstell.

Thanks again Jeff.
I am going to see if the 11?16 could be turned into 5/8 by my machinist. I am sure he will think of something. I will let you know.
