What Am I Missing?

Post by dunoon » Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:47 pm

I was going to mount the hood shelf on my 26 coupe. But there is no way I can because of the cowl to frame bracket. These hood shelves are repros and I'm wondering if there is suppose to be a slot for the bracket. Any info would be great and pictures even better.

I saved this photo from old forum thread. Shows a small cutout on the firewall end compared to the repro at Lang's. Don't know if photo is correct or where you interference is. This old thread discusses the issue and shows a different notch but loos to accomplish the same thing

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I bought new 26-27 hood shelves from one of the vendors. Slots were needed to be cut to fit over the firewall brackets. Super easy to do but did take some fitting.
